So Long For Now

I took the summer off from designing to focus on my visit with my family in the states. And once my vacation came to an end, I realized I was extremely eager to get back to my easel and my paints, but not so eager to get back to Photoshop. And so, alas, I have decided to take a break. My shop at With Love Studio will close on September 16th.

But wait, how about one last sale? And its a doozy! How does 75% off everything in my store sound?? Its my way of saying thank you all for your support over the last couple of years!

I expect I will return to designing at some point. I might even post some freebies here now and then! I'll definitely still be hanging about the digi-scrap world, so see you all there! So long, and thanks for all the fish! ;)

Speed Scrap Layouts!

I hope some of you were able to participate in the Summer Sand Bucket List event at WLS this past weekend! It was a great time with lots of speed scraps and lots of fantastic prizes. I hosted my first ever speed scrap, and I think it turned out quite well! This is the page I made for my own SS:

It was a busy weekend for my family, so I didn't get to do as many of the speed scraps as I would have liked (I wanted every one of the fabulous kits we were offering as prizes!). But I participated in two, both of which were hosted by one our store CT members, Marilyn. I am so pleased with how they turned out!

I wanted to share some beautiful CT pages that were created with Babies Don't Keep!

Marieke created this beautiful layout. I love her cluster and the elegant simplicity of this page:

And this gorgeous layout from Shanna absolutely wowed me (is wowed a word?). Those pictures were just made to go with this kit. I love how her photos take center stage and how everything blends together so beautifully! She used one of the "On the Line" templates from Fran B Designs in this layout.

And the last one is one I made. I wanted to showcase the beautiful Ruth Hulburt Hamilton poem that inspired this kit. I used a free template from Double Trouble Scraps. I'm offering this as a quick page to my Facebook fans!

New Release: Babies Don't Keep

I liked this kit the whole time I was working on it, but once it was complete and the preview was finished I realized I love it! "Babies Don't Keep" was inspired by the poem "Song For a Fifth Child" by Ruth Hulburt Hamilton. If you haven't read it, you must! It reminds us that our babies grow up far too fast, so we should let the little things go and focus on this precious time with our children while they are young.

I am so excited for iNSD! Is there anything more exciting than getting a good bargain? I love all the energy in the digital scrapbooking community during DSD and iNSD weekends. New Release: A Pox Upon You

Last month, my poor daughter had chicken pox. We live in a country that doesn't yet vaccinate against it, so I knew it was coming. When I heard there was a bit of an epidemic in our town, I knew it was only a matter of time. 17 children from her class got them at the same time! She got them quite severely, and she was pretty miserable. Her little body is still covered in polka dots weeks later!

And, as always, I found inspiration in my child! I present my new release, A Pox Upon You:

As I was working on this kit, I kept thinking of various medical/health related things I wanted to make that didn't quite fit with the chicken pox theme. So I started making them and tucking them away. Coming soon, I'll be releasing a coordinating mini kit or two, maybe some more papers and some word art. This will be my first collection, and I am calling the collection Time To Get Ill. *chuckle* Anyone else get that?

Although A Pox Upon You is focused on chicken pox, there is plenty in the kit that could be used for any sort of "get well soon" layout. Its really a versatile kit! Here is a page I made with it:

Color My Heart

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! I have a new release today called Color My Heart. I am describing it as a "kids arts & crafts kit masquerading as a Valentine's Day kit." My daughter spends a lot of time doing arts and crafts projects, so I needed a kit for scrapping all of those pictures!

I made a little "how to" for a fun project you can do with your kids. Feel free to download it for printing and share it with your friends!

I'm back, and I have a new release!

I apologize for the unplanned absence. Life happened, I'm sure you can all relate! And then, just to make things even better, I had some pretty dramatic computer issues. But life has calmed a bit and my computer is sorted, so I am back at it. I hope you enjoy my latest release, Plopsasaurus!

I took the name and the concept for this kit from the brilliant imagination of my three year old daughter. Several months ago, she introduced us to her imaginary monster friend Plopsasaurus, and he's been a member of the family ever since! He taught her to roar, and he protects her from the bad monsters. He also tends to get into some trouble now and then!

Here's a closer look at the different parts of this kit. I put a lot of work into this, and I think its a very cohesive kit. You get 36 elements, 18 papers, and 7 colors of alphas!
