October 2012 STS Road Trip

Road Trip!!!! The theme this month was "The Big City."

I've created two alphas this month. "City Skyline" lines up to create a really neat skyline effect along your border. I'm working on a scrap page of pictures I took recently in Bruges and it looks really cool with this alpha! I included blank buildings if you want to use them as elements, as well. The "Rush Hour" alpha was so much fun to make! I spent ages working on the cars, which I built by tracing basic shapes from pictures of cars and stacking them up until I had a complete vehicle. Then I added textures to make them look more "scrapbooky" (new word there) and colored them to match up with the Road Trip palette. I think I'll be offering a recolor of this alpha soon, as I would like it more with a wider color range. This alpha is really 5 alphas in one, as I included the complete alpha on each vehicle so you can mix and match as you like. Again, I included the blank vehicles for use as elements if you so desire. And I also included a handy road for you to line them all up on! It seems like these two alphas took ages to complete, they were both complicated in one way or the other. I'm really happy with how they turned out, though! I hope you all enjoy them! The papers I included are notable only because I used pictures I took as textures, so that was kind of fun to work with. I've been snapping "texture" pictures everywhere I go lately!

Purpled Papers Pack freebie

I've been hard at work designing for the next STS Road Trip and working on my very first kit, which is for the STS September Color Challenge! I'm really excited about the stuff I've been working on and can't wait to share. But, since its still a couple weeks until Road Trip time, I wanted to post SOMETHING for you all! I've been building up my stash of CU overlays (have you SEEN the free ones at Delicious Scraps???), so I thought it was about time I shared some of the results. All of these papers started with the same base color, but using various overlays and filters, they all look really different! I thought I'd do a set in each color I work with. STS September 2012 Road Trip

The STS September Road Trip theme is Back To School! I wanted to come up with something original, something nobody else would be doing, and I may very well have shot right past "unique" and landed in "bizarre" with this! I was inspired by this photostream. I hope someone can find a use for my Bento Box Lunch - I had a fabulous time creating it!

Sad Times Call For a Sad Clown

I've been meaning to post this for ages, its something I made months ago. It was one of my first creations! But yesterday was a sad day in my family. Lots of bad news. So it made me think of this!

I hope you enjoy it. I used it in a layout with a picture of a toddler having a tantrum! :)

Idiocy and Templates

Last night I made this adorable time line photo of my little monkey for Facebook...

Who sees the problem?? Yes,that's right, silly me forgot to leave room for the profile picture!!!

So, in the hopes that none of you will experience this same frustration, I created a quick little "template" to help with timeline photos. "Template" is a bit of a stretch, actually, as I didn't bother to tell you where to put your photos or elements - I trust you can handle the creative parts yourselves! This is simply to show you the dimensions of a Facebook timeline photo and to remind you which parts are going to be covered.
